Valentines Day Baking

Since my blog is now a fashion and lifestyle blog I am able to post a lot more things like recipies, product reviews, things about me etc..
So.. since valentines day Is tomorrow I decided to make some cupcakes:)
The only took about 40 minutes and they taste delicious, even if I do say so myself!
I decorated them with pink buttercream and then places little love hearts on top. Here is the recipe if you would like to try them out

  • 175g (6oz) of  self raising flour
  • 175g (6oz) of soft margarine
  • 175g (6oz) of caster sugar
  • 3 medium eggs

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4
  2. Smooth Mixture
  3. Collect all the ingredients and mix them into a bowl until you have a smooth mixture
  4. Put the cake cases into the cake tray
  5. Fill the cake cases with the mixture
  6. Cake Cases
  7. Put the cakes in the oven for 20-25 minutes
While the cakes are in the oven you can begin to prepare the decorations. I chose to add buttercream so to make butter cream you need two ingredients! You will need 100g (4oz) of soft margarine and 225g (8oz) of icing sugar. If you like you can add some food colouring to the buttercream mix. Mix these ingredients together until you have a light buttercream mix. If you find they aren't mixing together simply add a teaspoon of milk and this will help them to mix together nicely. Then place into a piping tube or bag to add to the cakes neatly.
By the time the buttercream is ready the cakes should be too. Leave the cakes to cool for 10 minutes on a cooling rack:) Then it is time to decorate:) Here are my finished cakes.
