Baking Choc Chip Cookies

I have hardly done any sort of 'baking' or cooking posts on my blog for a while and i decided to do another. So i made some cookies, took some photos and am sharing the recipe with you now :)

Prep Time - 15 minutes
Cooking Time - 10 minutes
Makes about 20

  • 100g of softened butter/margarine
  • 50g of brown sugar
  • 75g of caster sugar
  • 1 large beaten egg
  • 150g self raising flower
  • 100g of plain chocolate chips

Lightly grease the baking trays and preheat the oven to 190/375/Gas mark 5.

Add the sugars and margarine and mix them.

I chose to mix them using a hand held whisk rather than a spoon, but its your choice. Then add the beaten egg gradually. Then add in the flour.

I didn't have any chocolate chips, so instead i used a block of chocolate and smashed it into smaller pieces. Mix the chocolate chips in.

Next spoon a large teaspoon of the mixture onto the trays. I greased three trays so there was enough space. The cookies expand, so leave lots of room between them.
Bake in the over for 8-10 minutes. But do keep a very close eye on them as they turn dark brown at the blink of an eye.

Leave the cookies to cool and enjoy :)

Lots of Love,
Lydia
