DIY | Christmas Baking

Today i joined my sister and her friend Anya while they were christmas baking as i thought it would be something lovely to share with you all.
I'm going to share with you how to make gingerbread and cinnamon biscuits, absolutely delicious.

You will need
350g of plain flour
1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp of ground ginger
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
125g of butter
175g of soft brown sugar
1 free range egg
4 tbsp of golden syrup

First of all you need to sift all the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon into a food processor to mix it up all together.

Next add in the butter and blend in the food processor until there is a slightly breadcrum texture.

Then stir in the sugar.

Pour all the ingredients that have been mixed so far into a bowl and then beat the golden syrup and egg into the mixture.

After mixing again in the food processor knead the dough until it's smooth.
Then wrap in cling film and leave for 15 minutes in the fridge to chill.
Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas Mark 4 and line 2 baking trays with greaseproof paper.

After 15 minutes roll the dough out to 0.5cm thickness and then use cutters to cut out the gingerbread men shapes. Obviously, you can use many different shapes and that's what they did.
After place on a baking tray and leave to bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes and then leave to cool.

How delicious do these look?
They taste so yummy and have made me feel all Christmassy!!
